Daybreak In Dixie is the first of several albums we will preserve by Brian Blaylock. Native to the Chattanooga area, and still active to this day, Brian has been a bluegrass driving force in this area for decades. Brian grew up in music and plays mandolin, banjo, and guitar, and more. He has played with the Crowe Brothers for over 11 years and also plucked strings with the Dismembered Tennesseans. He has interviews available on WUUQ and was on WUTC with Chattanooga’s Richard Winham.

Daybreak In Dixie was released in 1987 through a company known well by this point: Crystal Inc. in Hixson, Tennessee. Brian credits members of his family exclusively on this album; Grant Blaylock on rhythm guitar, Clyde Blaylock with the banjo, and Edward Blaylock on the bass. This album is archived below and can be played natively or on Youtube.
