This is a documentary featuring the original Dismembered Tennesseans directed by John Greer in 2003. Featured alongside are two live performances pending upload, there are also two albums in the archive that will be shared soon enough.

Earl Freudenberg, who we have spoken with before regarding local music, has an article available on the original and new Dismembered Tennesseans, shedding light on the Chattanooga business men forming this group way back around 1945. That article is available at this link, and the original members were Fletcher Bright, Frank McDonald, Ansley Moses, and Doc Ed Cullis.

This documentary is 50 minutes in length and features interviews with Dalton Roberts, Chattanooga’s first county mayor & local musician, as well as many other band members and affiliates of the group. Dalton’s album Chattanooga Country was archived by our team earlier this year. This documentary is essential to knowing more of their story and experiences, and we recommend watching in its entirety for more information or historical context. This was uploaded not only to our archive, but to the Internet Archive as well to ensure long-term preservation.
