Gary McSpadden’s Great American Opry Christmas Spectacular

This is a medley of Christmas tracks recorded in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee by Gary McSpadden and his ensemble of singers and entertainers. Other than Gary himself, frequent members would be Lori Mullinax, Kim Kobeck, Rick Ball, Ronnie Chauvin, Les Marple, and more. Many fond memories were created in their home theatre in Pigeon Forge, one that seated right over 200, creating a more intimate and personable performance than shows that would come to follow in the area down the line. This was before the days Pigeon Forge was hailed as an entertainment location in Tennessee, when the McSpadden team began their gig there were only five other theaters in town, all of which were home-operated and small in scale.

Gary McSpadden (1943-2020) was an evangelist, pastor, singer, and television host. He steeped his roots in Christ and ministry at a young age, joining quartets and singing southern gospel in his youth. McSpadden went on to create many television programs and created theatrical events similar to his works in Pigeon Forge. His Jubilee concert series was filmed at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, with him producing and starring in many events in the Branson area through the 90’s-2000’s. Gary sang with many groups, including the Oak Ridge Boys & The Bill Gaither Trio.

This album could not be segmented track-by-track, as there are no credits for the various unlisted singers, making it impossible to properly list and label these for consumption. This recording is available for listening below and on YouTube.
