
1976 Cleveland, Tennessee record made by Arrow Records, recorded at Tommy Crawley‘s studio in town. Tommy was Judy Crawley’s brother, and a slew of local records were made at the recording space in his home that he created in the 70’s. Bea’s lyrics in the song “Down Here In Cleveland” sing how price spikes in electricity made money too tight to afford things like butter and milk. She calls TVA out by name in the aforementioned track, this 45 record was created to encourage solar power while critiquing the prices of electricity in the Cleveland area. Wally Clayton lent his fiddle-playing skills. A quick search on BMI SongView reveals Bea Godfrey’s full name was Bea Godfrey Lindstrum (1928-2007), with her having writing credits on a total of 4 songs in their database.
