This archive is a digital space for Joan Eubank’s Christmas Favorites, an album released on cassette with one side in English and the other in Thai. Joan and Allan, her husband, were missionaries for many years in Thailand, founding the Thai Christian Foundation and Allan creating the Christian Communications Institute there in 1981. The CCI leads 2,500 students to Christ annually and perform evangelistic folk dramas in about 25 villages per year as well.

Before her missionary days, Joan was a worldly renowned Broadway singer, winning the Theatre World Award as one of the Ten Most Promising Personalities of the 1957-58 Broadway Season. Allan and Joan first headed to Thailand in 1961, where they spent their first 8 years creating churches, or “church planting”, and assisting with rural development among the Thai and Lao Song people in Nakorn Pathom Province in Central Thailand.

Today in 2025, Allan is 95 and Joan is 92. They have called Thailand home for 64 years. Allan is a graduate of Yale and a Veteran of the Korean War (Captain in the Army Corps of Engineers). Joan graduated with a Master of Theological Studies from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (SMU). The couple now serves as volunteers rather than missionaries with the Thai Christian Foundation. Their YouTube has a video of Joan singing “On Eagle’s Wings” presumably filmed on their property in Thailand. Listen below or on YouTube.
